The Department of Science and Humanities was started in the year 2007. The department consists of English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Environmental Studies faculty. All the faculty members are highly qualified with rich teaching experience. They have published many articles in National & International Journals.
At present the department has been catering to the needs of B. Tech, M.Tech, MCA and MBA courses. The department is following modern teaching practices such as role-plays, Group Discussions, JAM, Team Presentations and the use of audio & video aids to teach phonetics, vocabulary, grammar, technical and creative writing. Students are given theoretical and practical orientation to come out with flying colours in campus recruitment, GRE, TOEFL and other competitive examinations. The department has also been imparting communication skills to help students edge over their counterparts in campus recruitment drives. The department has been vibrant in promoting extracurricular activities in students by organizing several programmes.
The department endeavors to integrate humanistic values with academic learning through introduction of relevant and innovative syllabus. English lab is equipped with 70 systems in addition to a communication skills lab. Two Digital Class rooms are available exclusively for the first year students.
The future goals of the department are: to establish one more language lab with more advanced software, to organize short term courses on communication skills and personality development of students and staff, and to offer tailor-made courses and workshops for the needy professionals.
